How to enable autocomplete for an email address I use frequently?
My partner and I run a small newspaper. I work at the office and he works from home. I get dozens of emails every day, some of which I must forward to him. In the past, his email address was "autofilled" in the TO: space. Now, I have to type it out each time. How can I get it to autofill his email again? I tried: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember search and form history" but the "Remember search and form history" option is not available.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
- You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
- To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
It was already set to "Remember History" "Permanent Private Browsing mode" was NOT checked. I even re-entered the email address into my contact list ... and STILL it will not autofill his address. Now what?
The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the email or name/password.
You can remove autocomplete=off if present with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name.
Well, that didn't work. I finally removed his email altogether; then re-entered it. Then closed Firefox and re-opened it.
That worked. Thanks!
