Hi guys,

I have just installed Firefox 4 on my Macbook Pro with latest updates etc on Snow Leopard. Now randomly on at times i will be unable to type in a box or use any keyboard functions. If i press "cmd + q" AT THE TOP IT GOES BLUE FOR A SPIT SECOND TO SHOW THE SHORTCUT IS WORKING HOWEVER I AM UNABLE TO use the keyboard to do anything else till i restart the program. I have also tried with and without plugins on.

Any Ideas?

many thanks Joe

I am a Mac user, running Snow Leopard. I also am experiencing this problem. I extensively use standard text boxes for web forms where I work. When ever I want to edit something I have typed I can't click on it or it will prevent me from being able to type anything. However, If I click off the text box and somewhere else on the webpage and then click where I want to edit I can then do my edit. However, to go back to where I was at I have to go through the same procedure.

Similarly If I highlight something and want to type over it, I simply can't under any circumstances. This is the biggest show stopper on a browser I have ever had. Text boxes should be pretty standard stuff.

I have not been able to duplicate this issue in Windows though.

PS: All the things I described as a problem I had to do about 20 times over in order to submit this post.

I had this problem too. It went away when I fixed the fonts that were corrupted in the update to 10.6.7. Go to this link to get the fix.
