Every time I open Firefox a window pops up saying"You have chosen to open Firefox Setup 3.6.12.exe which is a: Binary File from: http://daimajin.mirror.aarnet.edu.au Would you like to save this file? - is there a way I can prevent this pop up window from appearing? - I have installed Firefox previously on my computer and have never had this problem before.

Do you see that file in Tools > Downloads?

Delete downloads.sqlite (plus downloads.rdf, if it exists) in the Profile Folder

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files#Manually_delete_download_history

This can also be a problem with the file sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js to prevent Firefox from restoring a previous session.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore

Hi. I tried all the suggested solutions and nothing is stopping the OPENING FIREFOX SETUP box from coming up every time I open Firefox.

The box changes every time. It always reads: "OPENING FIREFOX SETUP 4.0.1. exe Binary File from" and then the address is different every time. Recent addresses: ...http://mirror.umoss.org ...http://mozilla.mirrors.tds.net ...http://mozilla.ussg.indina.edu

Help! Thanks!..
