The download to video button for RealPlayer doesn't appear on video screen. How do fix this?
I recently upgraded to RealPlayer SP Plus. I am unable to download video using Firefox broswer. The Download to video button does not appear over videos that can be downloaded. The plugin is enabled in Firefox. Realplayer wants me to uninstall and reinstall, I am afraid I will lose my library. RealPlayer works great in Internet Explorer. Any ideas?

This is an older post, but since no one has responded and there are still people having the problem, here are some thoughts:
The RealPlayer support site article entitled:
Download This Video option does not appear
https://real.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8883/related/1
(which the original poster has copied into the troubleshooting report) apparently was of no help.
While Firefox can be extensively customized by each user, sometimes a lot of customization to a standard installation creates conflicts between things. For instance, themes, add-ons, and plug-ins can sometimes conflict with each other and produce undesirable results, so:
- Try disabling all your your themes, add-ons and plug-ins that are not RealPlayer specific to see if that solves the problem. Or better yet, try creating a new profile (see the help article Managing Profiles) and use the new vanilla profile to test RealPlayer. If doing this gets RealPlayer to work with Firefox, then one of your themes, add-ons or plug-ins (or a combination of two or more of them) are conflicting with the RealPlayer functionality.
I have a separate profile I use just for such an issue with a particular add-on. I only use that profile when I want to use the add-on, otherwise I use a different profile.
- If you can use RealPlayer in Firefox successfully with a new (unenhanced) profile, or in your standard profile with all themes, add-ons and plug-ins disabled, then try enabling them, one a a time, and restarting the browser after each to test each one sequentially. You should be able to narrow down which one or combination is causing the problem that way.
- If you cannot use RealPlayer in Firefox with a new and unenhanced profile, or with all themes, add-ons and plug-ins disabled, then the issue may be that the RealPlayer product simply does not function as intended. The fact that RealPlayer support has a support page dedicated to the problem seems to indicate the problem is on their end, rather than with Firefox.
In fairness to RealPlayer, cross-browser compatibility with a complex product like RealPlayer made of opaque proprietary code is extremely difficult to maintain, so it is not surprising there are so many people having issues with its functionality.
