I don't have a teenager handy; sorry for this basic question.

I have an email address and an email plan with GoDaddy. I have set up Thunderbird with that same email address. Will I still be able to access my email through Thunderbird when I cancel my GoDaddy email plan?

Hi charlie26, Thunderbird is a tool to read and send email using an existing account, but it does not replace your account. If you cancel the account, you'll stop getting mail and stop being able to send through that account. So make sure not to do that unless everyone will know how to reach you through another address.

If your current email service is too expensive, you could investigate other options. GoDaddy probably has a customer retention department that is authorized to cut deals for customers indicating they might switch providers to save money on email.
