Hi I'm having trouble copying my old data over to my new PC. I figured out where the appropriate folders were and transferred everything over and it seemed to work - fine. I got all my folders although the SENT folder only contained some of my sent emails but that wasn't a big deal.

But then I sent my first email from the new PC and all of the folders which were displaying on the sidebar disappeared. When I look to see where the INBOX messages are stored (which didn't disappear) it points to an IMAP location. I understand this is something to do with storing the messages online but don't understand why its doing that and/or why that wiped out all my other folders.

Thanks for you help Mitch

What you describe usually occurs when your new setup can not sign into the mail server. On windows the most common cause is an anti virus product. New computers usually come with new anti virus that has to be uninstalled.
