My Windows 7 Firefox browser incrementally absorbs available memory until I am forced to shut it down. Presently it is using almost 2.5Gb of physical memory!

For the past several weeks, I am plagued with 'memory creep' no matter what I am doing, how many tabs I have open, etc. The longer Firefox sits open, the greater the memory draw. As memory reaches 1Gb, tabs begin hanging up, it impacts other applications running on my PC, and I am forced to close out. I've had to resort to using Chrome to avoid problems...

I have very few plugins/extensions, all reputable and necessary. I've disabled these in safe mode, with a modest drop in memory but not solving the creep issue.

My wife is experiencing the same issue on her workstation. Both workstations have current Windows updates, are protected by Norton security products, and have 64bit Windows 7 OS.

Thank you for your help!
