I used to be able to "never remember history" when using Firefox, but can't do this now that I've updated to El Capitan. I want this back, can you help?
I looked up how to find the "private browsing" feature, but for some reason, I don't have a "menu" bar on the top of my toolbar, and when I click on customizing my toolbar, there is no "menu" icon, nor is there the purple mask "private browsing" icon (please see image, and note the lack of menu icon on the top).
I would to get the "Never remember history" feature back on Firefox, but even though I click it, it still remembers history. This is very inconvenient since this is at times a shared computer.

Hello gurbyllib, it seems you are using a very old firefox version 15.0.1 OR you have a user-agent switcher add-on ?
please try to download a full copy of new firefox and then install that copy, follow the next steps:
1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html (full dmg package)
2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.
thank you
