Cant make my preferred download location stick
My disc is partitioned, one part is for the C drive alone and the other part is for my data, (D Drive.) My preferred folder for all internet downloads and uploads is in the "D drive" partition.
I cannot make my desired download folder in the Firefox download location setting stick, it always defaults back to the 'download' folder somewhere deep in the 'C' drive. It becomes a click-a-thon to get back to the D Drive.
Also, when I on an internet site and I want to upload a document to that site I press the 'upload' button. However it goes to a default location somewhere deep in the "C" drive again to find a file. When I press the 'upload' button to upload a PDF document it goes to the Desktop to find the PDF file.
I want the default location for all internet downloads and all internet uploads to be 1 folder in my Data partition (D Drive). Please advise how to make this happen, thank you

I understand that when you change the downloads default folder in the Firefox preferences, that after downloading it will not stick to the option if you use a different drive.
For uploading, the folder that appears is a different preference. It will always show the last opened folder. (about:config browser.download.lastDir )

or maybe a user.js file. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
