MY HP LASER SCANNER DOESN'T RECOGNIZE T-BIRD AS VALID
I HAVE AN HP LASERJET PRO MFP M225DN PRINTER/SCANNER , HP HP DOES NOT FIND THUNDERBIRD, IT JUST SAYS "NO VALID
MAIL CLIENTS FOUND, SO, I AM UNABLE TO SEND FAXES WITH ANY THING IT SCANS.
ANY IDEAS, SURELY THERE MUST BE OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM.
I HOPE YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION.

A quick look at your printer's manual shows that it uses its own software to connect to your mail provider's SMTP server. Thunderbird or Outlook is not used.

● Use the Scan to E-Mail Wizard (Windows)
● Set up the Scan to Email feature via the HP Embedded Web Server (Windows)
● Set up the Scan to Email feature via the HP Embedded Web Server (OS X)
The SMTP settings are the same as found in Thunderbird's Account settings The password required is the password needed to access your mail server.
