The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.
You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

In Firefox the lower left area of the browser screen box is on the opposite side of the search box which may be modified.
It ONLY appears when going to a new webpage at times.
Firefox also reverts back to the earlier web page when you open an entirely new window.

Are you referring to the click-tracking on the Google search results page? When you click a result, Google changes the URL so that it runs through a tracking script on the way to the site.
If you are referring to loading a page in some other way: While Firefox is retrieving a page, you may see URLs for lots of different components, including style sheets, scripts, images, etc. Many pages use Google services, ranging from script libraries (e.g., jQuery), to Google Maps, to Google Analytics (tracking), to Google Syndication (AdSense), and on and on. For better or worse, the more you look, the more you see Google everywhere.

After a few second of loading your home page, Firefox switches the window order and shows you the window you were viewing previously? There's a good chance this is related to a bug that kicks in when you do not have Flash running in any tab and you open a new window to a page that does use Flash.
