I have a laptop using Windows 7 -64 bit operating system. I recently upgraded to Firefox 11. However, when I tried to import my bookmarks from IE9 using the "help" directions on Firefox 11, the directions didn't work as my buttons and toolbars are different from the directions. I've found that I can use the "help" directions for Windows XP and they match what I'm seeing. Is there something I didn't do correctly when I upgraded from Firefox 9 to 11? Why doesn't my Firefox 11 look like the one pictured on the site? Thanks!

You could export the bookmarks from IE as HTML, and then import the HTML file into Firefox bookmarks from the bookmarks Library window.

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser
  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML : "From File"
