Your search - I hate the placement of many ads - a strip under the article. They are in the way and I have to actively delete the ad. Often trying to delete opens the entire ad page. Please just put the ads over to the side where they can be seen but are not in the way - did not match any answers in Google AdWords Help Center - Tutorial, Guides, and Support for AdWords Help.

Ok, here are several screen shots. As you can see, most ads are in the way and the only way to remove most of them is to open the site and close it. They do not seem to be pop-ups I understand that this is the wrong forum but this is what came up when I started Never mind — the screenshot files are too large - not one would upload here. Let’s just forget this. I have wasted enough time on this and gotten nothing to show you. Thanks again for trying to help

Hi Pattylbtoo,

Could you please explain why you are posting this on the Firefox support forum  ?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.

Firefox itself is a web browser and not a search engine. Neither Mozilla or the Firefox web browser places Ads on websites.

Psst... Firefox has had a Popup blocker since forever. Perhaps you meant for extensions that adds to it.

FredMcD told the OP to go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page.

That's where you'll find extensions , like pop-up blockers that'll do even more than Firefox pop-up blocker settings ......

An extension like : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/popup-blocker-ultimate/

There is No actual popup blockers on a.m.o as that example as I said adds to the built in Firefox popup blocker.

Many of those popup extensions that adds features to the actual popup blocker only started more recently, years after he started using the "search for a good ad / pop-up blocker" line on this forum.

The line is still misleading even now as it implies Firefox does not have a popup blocker and you need to go to a.m.o to get one is my point but he still does not see it that way like you.

Can you attach a screenshot?

@ Pattylbtoo :

Unless you're referring to this add-on :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-adwords-ads-test-uk/?src=search

Maybe you should be posting on one of Google's Help forums ..... (?)

Not sure but this was the option that popped up. Truthfully I don’t know where I should post

Maybe if you could explain your problem a little more, like :

Do you use Google's AdWords yourself - would their Help Center be a good place for you, or quite the opposite  ?

It's obvious that you have a problem with where the ads are placed, but somehow it doesn't seem to be a Firefox issue.

If you could give us a more detailed description of the problem  ?

In the mean time I will give you this link that will lead to Google Help forums :

https://support.google.com/?hl=en

(you can scroll down to see more)

There are multiple Google AdWords Help/Support links, but I won't post them here.

In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

Thank you!

Thanks everyone This doesn’t appear to be a popup so dont think that info will help. I did look at one site that one of you recommended but it was about ad word ratings for sellers. I do not use google ad words. Originally tried to send to google help but somehow ended up here I need to locate the articles where these ads were - all news I think but don’t know exactly where they are. Will send a screen shot as soon as I can. (Working today)

Ad/blockers will also block what you are seeing. Ublock Origin is a good one. Please try a adblocker before answering back as this may improve your internet browsing.

Thanks. Let’s put this aside for now! This problem plagued me for days and now I can’t find the stupid ads at all. So cant take screenshots and cant give information to all of you who are trying to help. I’ll try a google approach and see what happens. Will let you all know if I need to revisit this issue.

Hi, could you tell us if you tried any adblockers please ? :

Also have you run a scan for malware that could be placing the ads ?  :
