I don't have a backup of my old bookmarks and I need them for the new version of Firefox; what should I do?

When the Firefox updated, then I was checking for my bookmarks (and there were a lot!). I don't have a backup (as HTML) and I don't have either the bookmarks on Chrome, in order to import them into my new Mozilla. The only one backup folder I found on my computer (using your instructions) is a folder containing 9 documents with .jsonlz4 extension (and not HTML). What should I do in order to recover my old bookmarks?

Thank you very much! Aurora Zamfir

The most recent backup has 21 bookmarks as you can see by the name.

The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once.

  • bookmarks-YYYY-MM-DD_<item count>_<hash>.jsonlz4.

Theway ot use such compressed .jsonlz4 bookmark backup in the bookmarkbackups folder is to restore this backup.

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

Note that restoring a JSON backup will replace all existing bookmarks.
