Recently I have experienced certain text on various websites, including google searches displaying as a series of boxes with the letter A inside of the box. I have cleared the cache on my font management app which works 1 x, and then seems to revert. This problem doesn't exist when using Safari. Is this a font problem? Running OS X Yosemite, 10.10.5

We have seen cases where a box with all '?' or all 'A' is displayed that might be related to using a Last Resort font that displays all the glyphs with one same character.

You can set this pref to 1 on the about:config page.

  • security.sandbox.content.level = 1
  • close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
