Bought an Asus Chromebook for schoolwork, but the university's online interface does not accept Google Chrome. So i use Firefox from my laptop to access the school's server. Being that the Chromebooks OS is Chrome instead of Windows, can I still install and use Firefox to access a site that doesn't like Chrome? Can I even INSTALL Firefox on the Chrome OS?

Hi

Firefox is not designed to run on the Chrome operating system.

The only way that I can think of running Firefox on the device that you have is to replace Chrome OS with a different Linux distribution that will come with or will support Firefox.

I have not done such a thing, nor is it within the bounds of this forum to support. If you wanted to do this, you will need to establish the method from a Linux support forum.

Some Chromebook's you can dual boot with a Linux distro but it is not as fast.

The desktop Firefox is only for Windows, Mac OSX 10.6+, and Linux.

edit: Not the best options for the Asus C201 and probably only should be attempted if you do not mind risking it. example: https://libreboot.org/docs/hcl/c201.html https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Asus/C201
