How do I check the permissions for a specific user account for Firefox folders and files like the datastore containing the browser plugins?

I was unable to download Adobe Flashplayer version 14.0.0.145. I would go to sites that due to content utilized Adobe Flashplayer and the site would ask do you want to download. I would say yes. Firefox would indicate the plugin was installed. There was a copy of the app installed on my hard drive when you checked the 'Program & Features' option in the Control panel, but when you went and checked the list of plugins in Firefox version 30 the Adobe Flashplayer was not listed. I ended up taking it to a local technician who trace the problem back to bad configuration of permissions. Can you enrich that explanation for me? Is permission Windows related versus browser related? What file or folder's permissions should I be checking? How do I do that?

The issue was not in finding the correct version of Adobe Flash Player. The issue was that my signon did not have the appropriate permissions to make a modification to the Firefox browser; thus while I was able to download and execute the Adobe Flashpalyer installer without issue, the plugin list in the browser never was updated to reflect the new app (Flashplayer) that had been installed locally. This is fixed now. The technician that fixed it said it was due to the permissions on my account which is classified as an admin being corrupted. I wanted further details regarding these permissions; so I can check it myself should it happen again in the future.
