What is Mozilla waiting for to improve their browser for iOS? By them allowing add-ons to work on iOS, they could gain significantly more market share, which they desperately need.

And I know extensions on iOS is possible because there’s a new browser that’s come out that allows you to install Firefox and Chrome extensions. Some are buggy, but it still works. It’s called Orion browser.

If Mozilla did it, they could probably come out with a better version.

According to Orion, they ported web extension APIs to run on top of WebKit, which also runs on iOS.

So this is not installing and using extensions for desktop Firefox straight from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ nor the Extensions for Firefox on Android https://addons.mozilla.org/android/

Firefox on Android and Desktop (Windows, Linux and macOS) uses the Gecko engine while due to Apple's restrictions the Firefox on iOS/iPadOS is basically a shell using the WebKit engine.

The vast majority of Extensions for Firefox are made by a third-party author(s) or company and not by Mozilla.
