I have TB 68.5.0. One of my gmail accounts refuses to send out emails. I checked settings, which seem to be ok just as other gmail accounts that are working .

Windows Defender is all you need.

That's for those were you changed the Authentication method to OAuth2.

I suppose it's something you can turn off in your Google settings (not Thunderbird).
The same problem started again with Japaneselinguist2@gmail.com. It does not receive or send out emails at TB. I did nto change any setting.
On webmail side it works fine.

Are these what you meant? I could not find a location in Defender to specify TB Profile. The profile is a folder and not an app.
W10 Settings/Update & Security/Windows Security/Virus & Threat Protection/Virus & threat protection settings/Manage settings/Exclusions/Add or remove exclusions.
By my count, you have 6 gmail accounts: 3,11,12,13,14,15. You will have to figure out which one is for japaneselinguist2. Set the authentication for all incoming gmail servers to OAuth2, and the same for all 6 smtp servers. You must have one smtp server for each account, with the same User Name. Select an account in the left pane of Tools/Account Settings, then click Edit SMTP server in the right pane to check that the User Name is the same as for the incoming account.

This is the Windows firewall, and no one suggested to you to mess with that. I'd strongly suggest you reverse any Firewall changes you made wrt Thunderbird. This article was written for Win8. I don't think anything fundamentally changed since. In case you need more specific instructions for your version of Windows, I suppose you know how to use Google, or check with Microsoft.

There does appear to be some issues with changing passwords with gmail at the moment, there is an active bug report. But deleting passwords stored in Thunderbird appears to be an effective work around.

Largely resolved, but I notice sometimes emails do not go out and struggle, and I close TB and restart, it goes out. Why does this happen? Anyway to solve this? Or it is a nature of TB?
