Unable to install and enable the Lync Web App Plugin in Firefox Quantum
With Firefox Quantum 57.0.2 (64-bit), I am trying to join a Lync meeting. I use Outlook 2013 on a Windows 7 SP1 machine to Join the Lync meeting which launches Firefox and takes me to a Lync Web App sign on page. I have Firefox set as my default browser.
On the Lync Web App sign on page, I enter my user name and password and check the box to Install Lync Web App plug-in. Then I hit Join the meeting. A file tries to download called LWAPlugin64BitInstaller64.msi. I download and run that installer and it finishes. I can confirm that the plug-in is installed in my Control Panel Program and Features. However, that plug-in does not appear in the Firefox plug-in listing and does not appear to be activated/enabled in Firefox. I am unable to join the Lync meeting through Firefox.
I have also confirmed that the config option "plugins.load_appdir_plugins" is set to true.

Firefox 52 and later releases only support the Shockwave Flash plugin and disable all other plugins. If you need to use other plugins then you can use the Firefox 52 ESR release. Otherwise you can stay with the current Firefox release version.
Why-do-Java-Silverlight-Adobe-Acrobat-and-other-plugins-no longer work.
Firefox 52.5.2 ESR:
