When Firefox crashes (only occasionally) and the Crash Reporter dialogue box pops up, the text is in a foreign language. Is this a bug or can I change a setting to solve it?

Thanks for your help, I have done what you suggested. Everything seems fine although I have not replicated a crash yet. Is there a simple way to make Firefox crash?

The crash report flagged these programs;

Process Type = Shockwave Flash Version:15.0.0.239

AppKit =

libsystem_kernel.dylib =

libdispatch.dylib =

libsystem_pthread.dylib =

HIToolbox =

CoreFoundation =

JavaScript

These have been showing up a lot of late. I can't find out what these programs are for, but I think they are all MAC.

Thanks for looking into my crash reports. I checked my language as you suggested but that was set correctly. I have done a clean install but have yet to see what happens after a crash.

After a crash, you get the crash report numbers (that start with BP) and you post them here for us to look over. We then try to understand the cause of the crash and how to take care of it.

I have this problem too. It's not really about the crashing - it's about the dialogue box. Firefox is set to English so why is the dialogue some other language? Russian? Could it be a malicious script wanting me to click "send" so all my logins and passwords were dispatched wherever? Screenshot of window attached. (Note: I can't replicate it again as I've trashed that Firefox application and re-installed afresh.)

Note that this is a bug in the packing (assembling) operation the the current Firefox release.

  • bug 1115892 - Crash reporter appears in a different language (Greek [el]) than Firefox and OS X (British English, [en-GB])
