The bookmarks are saved in a Favorites folder and further categorized in sub-folders. I cant figure out how to access them in firefox?

Sorry, Firefox really can't do anything with the files in the Windows Favorites folder, the format is totally different than what Firefox uses for Bookmarks, unless you install the PlainOld Favorites extension.

The usual way of getting Favorites into Firefox is by importing them from Internet Explorer.
