How do you copy the theme from TB68 into nightly?

I have to use the nightly build until the latest OAuth2 changes are released, but I'm not a fan of the look. Can anyone tell me how I can copy the default theme from TB68 into my nightly profile? Unfortunately search results give me hundreds of pages on how to *change* the theme (is it really that hard?) but I can't find anything on how to re-use a default theme.

Also, why are there no longer any pictures of the themes on the add-ons web site? There used to be full images of what each theme would look like, now there's nothing but a header image so I have no way of knowing how a theme will appear without installing it first, and the ones I did try installing didn't change anything but the background colors or add a fancy picture to the top. I'm just looking for the original icons and fonts that don't have a comical amount of vertical whitespace.

Thanks!

The short answer is you can't.
TB68 uses PNG icons, which are rather large in size, don't scale, and take a lot of effort to maintain.
Recent TB beta versions as well as daily versions use SVG icons, which are smaller in size, they are scalable, and allow further customization.
So there are good technical reasons for the change, and developers don't change things for the sake of annoying users.

What you see in the current daily is not necessarily how things will look like in the release version. This is work in progress, not the final result.
So your best bet is to accept it as is for the time being, and be patient how this evolves.

The following was written for Firefox, but is applicable to Thunderbird as well.

You'll have to differentiate between “complete themes” (also called heavyweight or full themes) and lightweight themes. While lightweight themes (or background themes) only change the style (look and feel) of your Firefox browser, complete themes don’t limit themselves to these cosmetic features. When using complete themes, you shouldn’t be surprised to find completely new buttons in your browser, or control elements that are moved around to other locations.

With that said, it’s worth noting that complete themes are somewhat harder to create and, what’s more, they can break when your Firefox browser updates itself to a new version. These annoyances may very well be the reason why Mozilla decided to stop supporting complete themes.

Mozilla Firefox lightweight themes, on the other hand, are easy to find, they don’t move around any of the interface elements in your browser and they allow you to easily pimp backgrounds and colors.

What you get on the add-ons web site are only the lightweight themes.

Well, that's disappointing, but I guess there's no choice but to wait. Thanks for letting me know!
