change administrator to me instead of deseased son
My son took care of all m,y computer issues & was the administrator. He is now deceased & we do not have his password etc to change anything as needed. How can I change so I am the administrator? Something new has popped up needing his password for Firefox & I can't open up to use the computer now.

Unless you are listed as an administraitor, you will need the service of a computer tech to change those settings.
I'm sorry for your son.
Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
Flash Player Version: Version 28.0.0.161

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only> +++++++++++++++++++ See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
A password isn't needed just to open and use Firefox.
As Fred mentioned changing the Administrator account in the Windows Operating System really needs to assistance of a computer technician; and that topic is beyond the realm of this Firefox support forum - it's a "Windows thing".

Maybe his son used a setting to run firefox as administrator aka "Always run as admin: and the like in windows...
Anyway gaining administrator on windows without a password falls under "hacking" and no one will guide you to do that in public. So visit your local official M$ technical center to do it.
Maybe post a question on the Microsoft support forum :
While a number of hackers already know how to do this, this is not the kind of information one should talk about in public.
No computer would be safe from thieves and hackers.

You are abosultely right !
On Microsoft support you will see that there may be some possibilities (depending on many different things), that we can't get into on this forum.
