How do I sync my old computer with my new one?
I have a new computer, with the latest firefox browser. My old computer also has the latest firefox browser. and want I need to sync the firefox browser to my old computer's latest browser. I have set up the syncing process on both the old and new browsers. When I try to manage the syncing on both computers nothing happens. I need step by step instructions on how to get all by old bookmarks, passwords, history, tabs, add ons, etc. to the new computer.
Thanks, Jennheather

- Sync doesn't do a computer to computer transfer.
- A Sync server is where Sync data is stored - it's the "hub". Data flows "to" and "from" the Sync server.
- Best to have the old computer Sync'd to the sync server first, and then login / connect the new computer to Sync, at least a few hours later if you have a newly created Sync account or have a lot of data saved in Firefox. Like many thousands of bookmarks.
- At this time it's best not to have a mobile device using Firefox for Android connected to Sync when "adding a new device" to an existing Sync account.
Might be easier to just transfer your Profile from the old computer to the new computer via a USB Flash stick than using Sync, especially if you are new to using Sync. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile IMO, as long as you aren't going from a real old operating system to a real new one (like going from WinXP to Windows 8.1 or Windows 10) it should be safe to copy the entire contents of the Profile folder and replace the existing files that are in the Profile that is already on the new computer.
