restoring bookmarks from a backup
Dear Mozilla volunteer,
I switched my computer on the other day, only to be faced with a screen with absolutely no bookmarks toolbar, and no access to my bookmarks. The bookmarks have all disappeared. To try to do something about this, I have tried to restore my old backups from disk. Sadly, this does not work. After clicking on View All Bookmarks, I then click on Import and Backup. I then click on Restore, and am given a menu to select from - I select the oldest backup. I am then given a message saying Are You Sure? When I click OK, the machine seems to do nothing. It just seems to hang. Any ideas would be much appreciated,
Yours Moxilla user

Hi, to see your bookmarks bar, right click in the tab bar - but not on a tab, and tick/check Bookmarks Bar.
Bookmarks are stored in your Profile Folder separately from Firefox. This article should help you restore them.
Hope that solves your problem.

Although there are several third-party software programs that allow you to backup, restore, and manage your Internet browser bookmarks or favorites, all modern browsers include bookmark managers capable of backup and restoration. The following section has a listing of each of the major browsers and how to backup and recover your Internet bookmarks or favorites.
Tip: If you've considered moving from one browser to another, you can often backup your bookmarks in one browser and then follow the below restore tips to import those bookmarks into your new browser.
