secure website log in autofills password when password turn off
When I go to a secure website such as Amazon, Paypal and others; when I click on log in my password is automatically filled in. I don't want this, I prefer to enter the password myself.
Firefox Options: the history and cookies are all cleared, remember passwords is unchecked, always use private browsing mode is checked and yet the passwords are still always autofilled. Password exceptions even have the secures sites listed. I have even installed the latest Firefox - no luck.
This issue only recently started happening after version 32.0.3.
I have used Internet Explorer and Opera they do not autofill password.
Not sure what is left to do in Firefox? I really prefer to use Firefox!

Thanks it is working fine now. I found that an Add-on "Maskme" was the problem.

hello Rangefinder, please go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > security > saved passwords & remove any entries from websites where your passwords shouldn't automatically be filled in.
Password manager - Remember, delete, change and import saved passwords in Firefox
Philip I have already tried that. There are no passwords in "saved passwords"
could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
I did notice that if I run Firefox in save mode that it doesn't autofill passwords.
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
