Hi -

After months of flawless performance without any issues, Firefox has crashed several times in the last two hours (for time reference purposes this would be between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon EDT in case others are having the same issue).

Really strange - no new programs added and nothing else new. At one time there were issues with Webroot Secure Anywhere, but I last renewed 3 weeks ago and it has been fine all along, until today.

No one site in particular is causing the issue.

That other issue that was in the news last week pertained to Explorer and had nothing to do with Firefox as far as I could tell.

Thanks, Randy

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more crash reports that have this format:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.

  • You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.

See:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

I keep sending my crash reports to Firefox. Still crashing again this morning. Crashes every half hour or so; not related to a specific page that I can see - and I have not done any updates or added any programs.
