Sometimes in an email, the graphics do not show up, but does show numbers (address, I think). If I forward it (yahoo mail) then the graphics do show up. I tested and this does NOT happen using Internet Explorer. I have 2 laptops, both running Firefox 6.0.2 - both Windows 7, one 32 bit and one 64 bit OS. Usually the graphics do show up.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain. Make sure that you do not block third-party images permissions.default.images

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

I did check all the permissions per your answer and they were all ok. I have added 2 screen shots, one showing the imbedded numbers instead of the graphic, then another shot after I hit the forward button, showing that the graphic does appear in the forwarded email. This only happens occasionally. Usually the graphics appear in most emails. When I use Internet Explorer, the images in the message appeared normally. Therefore, I assume it is a problem with Firefox.

Do you see the image in Tools > Page Info > Media when that happens?

Are that new images that you uploaded or attached or are you forwarding a mail?

It looks to me more as a problem with Yahoo! Mail that isn't sending the images and shows the alt text instead.

Did you try Save mode?

Do you have any extensions that can block content?
