Firefox Android (132.0.2 & 133.0b8) regularly hang after changing to another app and then returning to Firefox
Xiaomi 14 - HyperOS 1.1.3.0.VNCMIXM - Android 15 AQ3A.240627.003
This hang is not consistent. I have been switching back and forth to get details for this thread with no issue. But very frequently when I have switched away from Firefox to another app and then returned to Firefox the app has completely frozen. I can see everything clearly but can do nothing at all (neither the web page or Firefox). I haven't yet identified a pattern.
132.0.2 has Relay and CashRewards installed. 133.0b8 is vanilla.
I'm using gesture controls on HyperOS to switch apps.
No issues with any other apps.
Is this where I report such things?

It might be something specific to your version of Android or RAM related... system is overwrite portion of RAM where Firefox was been held. Try Developer options and change process limit in background.

Today's crash. I had this web page open, switched to LINE app, then straight back, and 133.ob8 vanilla has become unresponsive.
Oh wait! This gets weirder. I switched away from the app again (I'm typing this in Firefox 132.0.2) and when I went back to 133.0b8 it was responsive again but had changed. I switched again and then it was unresponsive again. But I realised that whatever mashing of buttons I do is taking effect because after 1,2,3 times returning it will eventually unfreeze and everything I did before has taken effect, only without any visual representation of what is happening. So maybe only the entire GUI is hanging.
Also 132.0.2 was hanging at times in switching back and forth. They both exhibit the same behaviour.

I also have this issue and it can be annoying sometimes. Unfortunately it could be device (especially RAM) releated since the app cannot run properly on the background.
Thank you. I just experienced the same issue with LINE messenger where the interface had hung, but if I then switch away and come back everything I did when the interface was frozen (e.g. type a bunch of spaces) was there when I came back. I think in particular I am having this issue switching between LINE and Firefox, so maybe they're addressing the same space or something. But seems it's related to OS rather than Firefox.
