I want to permanently and repeatedly disable part of a website that messes up the layout. I get a VEEERY long slider at the bottom when the element is present with a never ending page.

I found out using the inspector which element of the page was doing it and if I "delete the node" the website appears completely normal.

The line in blue is what I want to delete permanently. And it is gone on the second upload.

Note that Firefox 56.0.2 is quite obsolete.

The screenshot show a class name (carousel__container if I see this correctly) for that DIV container, so you can search the page to see whether this class name is unique and if that is the case block by this class name. If necessary replace the domain from the domain in the URL. userContent.css =>

@-moz-document domain(ebay.com) {
div.carousel__container { display:none!important; }
}

You also could use the Stylus extension to apply the style if setting up a userContent.css file is too much hassle:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/styl-us/

Or if you run an ad blocking add-on, it may already have a feature to hide an element on the page every time you load the page.

Thanks for the replies.

I have tried the userContent.css.

Should the file look like this?

Unfortunately the userContent.css has not done the trick of eliminating the node.

Although I have uBlock installed I am not sure how to code this the get rid of the style. I have looked at styl-us but again am not sure how to code this to stop this node.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

Hi, What kind of link do you want me to post?

more options

A link to a page that has the element(s) you want to block, so we can check this in the Inspector.

Hi, I cannot attach a txt file here, so have copied the code of the inner HTML below.

<button class="carousel__control carousel__control--prev" type="button" aria-label="Go to previous slide" aria-disabled="true"><svg class="icon icon--carousel-prev" focusable="false" aria-hidden="true"><use xlink:href="#icon-carousel-prev"></use></svg></button>
