Reorder Search Engines?
Firefox 74.0
If you use the address bar for search and navigation you cannot change the order of the search engines. If you use a separate search bar you can. (With a left click on the search engine and drag.) Is there a way to get Firefox to allow reordering search engines in the dual function mode of the address bar? By changing an about:config setting? By editing a profile file?

Are you trying to reorder the website icons that appear on the bottom of the address bar drop-down while typing?
The order of these should follow the order that they appear in the Firefox settings page. If you go to the Firefox settings and select Search from the left-hand side, you should be able to drag and drop the search providers in that list to the desired order.
Hope this helps.

Yes.

You misunderstand my query. Perhaps I could have stated it better.
You can reorder the search bar search engines if you select the separate search bar and address bar option.
If you select the combo search and address bar option you cannot reorder the combo search and address bar search engines.
I would like to know if there is a way to get Firefox to allow reordering of search engines when using the combo search and address bar.

Hi, have you tried re-ordering via the "One-click search engines" in the preferences window as Wesley suggested?
That should affects both bars regardless of if the separate search bar is displayed or not.
For example, see the attached for my search engine settings.
