So for some reason youtube videos wont play anymore, there is just the swirly circle on a black screen and it says: if playback doesnt begin shortly, try restarting your device. Ive already tried clearing cookies and installing the youtube flash player but those dont work, and ive checked to see if i have the latest version of adobe and i do, it was working fine yesterday but not anymore. And this problem seem to just be limited to youtube as sites like Netflix and hulu work without problems.

What's your computer system and Firefox version?

Youtube currently uses the HTML5 player.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}
