Hi, first if using Ariel Font it is not a UTF8 font so change it and see if things are better.

Am not sure how to find it any other way as I use the Menu Bar so please turn on the Menu Bar by mousing to the top of the Browser and Right Click then Click Menu Bar. Go to View then Text Encoding. Should be able to change it from there.

You can then leave the Menu Bar up or go to View --> Toolbars and Click it off.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Is this about opening local files in Firefox?

Hello! Thanks for your responses. I have tried to use 'view' and text encoding, but for some reason, the menu bar doesn't appear after I have turned it on. Does anybody know why it doesn't appear?

I am trying to open web files in an online application.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, mine is greyed out also, that is weird.

Please go to the 3 Bar Menu --> Customize then look for Text Encoding and drag it out to the bar some where you want it.
