Mac Quantum. If I visit a site then use the Bookmarks menu I get an option to bookmark it. If I don't bookmark it but leave it for a few minutes then pull down the menu I get an option to "Edit this bookmark" instead. Why? How ? If I later search bookmarks such "auto-bookmarked" sites appear - but its tricky in such searching to see whether they are bookmarks or just places visited. There isn't much difference conceptually between history and bookmarks except for tags. Is it the case that the action of "Edit this bookmark" is what turns a visited link into a saved bookmark ? One place the distinction may be important is in syncing because history and bookmarks are distinguished. I like to keep my bookmarks to a reasonable size and not have ten years of bookmarks stored because having too many defeats the object of having them. History on the other hand is different. What goes on here - I can't find any trace of anyone else reporting on or questioning this behaviour - maybe its a "feature" of my set up and can be changed ? Would be nice to understand this - for example is my bookmarks list *really* growing with every tab I open (even this page turned itself into a bookmark while I was writing this text). Maybe, like schrodingers web page (wink) its the action of pulling down the bookmarks menu that turned it into a bookmark to be edited and if I hadn't looked it wouldn't be one ? - maybe that's why the browser is called Quantum ? ;-). I'll test for that. Can anyone explain what's happening here ? andy
