I live in the UK The standard default units for temperature are degrees Celsius. The local weather check, which has appeared on the new Firefox browser, gives temperature in degrees F. I cannot find a way to switch display to metric units. Please can anyone advise? Oceanguard

There should be No Local Weather Check. Mozilla does not had that. Where did you download it from ?

Check in Add/Remove Programs for something like that. Since did not ask for and we do not give it needs to be deleted.

To PKShadow Thank you for your prompt reply. This morning 17th Nov (UK time) when I switched on my computer, & opened Firefox, it wanted to do an update. (Only a few seconds) As is usual, a tab appeared summarizing the updates. It appears that a new version called Firefox Quantum is now my default browser. There are lots of differences. For instance, the convenient large icons for my favorite websites have disappeared. Also I had to look for 'history' The 'Local Weather Check' comes up on a top toolbar when I click for a new tab. The temperature is given in degrees F I can't go to 'add/remove' because I would lose Firefox altogether. I guess this is progress, but most weather websites, like Weather Underground etc, give you a choice of metric or Imperial(Customary) units. Maybe Mozilla have overlooked this option, but it is important to many users round the world to have units that they are used to, ie metric. Thanks for looking into this, and would be grateful if you could you tell me what is going on with this new Quantum version. Oceanguard
