When you press and hold the new tab button, an option to open a container tab should show up.

"Control + ." works as a shortcut to bring the container menu and you can navigate it using arrow keys.

I think the best way to explain it is: Firefox 57 has built-in support for containers at a basic level, but the extension makes it a lot more usable.

is there any reason not to include this extension as built in feature ? IMO it's a hassle to open new container tab without the ability to "Always Open in Container", since everyone would end up using default container as the result.

Hi as3mbus, I can only guess that the containers team currently wants to be able to experiment and do updates quickly rather than plugging into Firefox's 12-week development and test cycle. At some point, it would make sense to make it a "system" extension which Firefox installs automatically (similar to how Firefox Screenshots evolved and was integrated).

See privacy.userContext.longPressBehavior

0 disables long press; 1 when clicked, the menu is shown; 2 the menu is shown after X milliseconds

Note that this feature won't work in a Private Browsing mode window.

thx 4 responding to my opinion jscher2000 well, true for those long cycle. but what about nightly and beta? i believe they update these version more frequently, and early adopter (like me) would like to see any update in them. My intention is to make more people know about this feature instead of having to hold click the new tab button to start using them. it would be a waste if this feature isn't having much insight because of it's hardly usable, and noticeable interface. would like to make an article bout this. when i'm free
