When Thunderbird updated their site, I was required to sign-in to continue and get to my email account. I have had this account for over 15 years. I guess I don't know my user name and password. I assume my username is my email address (rrbaker@q.com), and I used my email username from the host (which I also HAD for over 15 years and I can't get into my account.

re :When Thunderbird updated their site,

I'm slightly confused by what you mean. Thunderbird email client does not have a site. The Thunderbird Support forum website has nothing to do with your mail account. Do you mean Thunderbird email client updated program?

What OS do you use? What version of Thunderbird?

re :I can't get into my account Are you saying you cannot get access to your webmail account via a browser? Please confirm you can access webmail account.

If you can access your webmail account using a browser, this proves the username and password are good.

Then make sure the username and password are actually correct in Thunderbird. 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Passwords' tab click on 'Saved Passwords' click on 'Show Passwords'

Right click on smtp line and select 'Edit password' Do the same for imap and/or mailbox lines. click on 'Done' click on Ok Exit Thunderbird. wait a few moments for background processes to complete. Start thunderbird.
