My firefox is set to load my tabs from the last session every time I open it. But twice now in the last few days it's opened a blank session & lost all my tabs. This happens to me periodically - every couple of months. It's infuriating. How can you stop it ever happening again?

Hi corinne_s,

After the session restore, if the session is blank the session restore is not working properly. Normally, you can restore your tabs by using the session restore function on the homepage or follow this article: How do I restore my tabs from last time? However, with the new Australus launch this week you can customize this. You can still access the last session file from the page "about:sessionrestore".

There are two add ons I have for this, which are nice to have:

Hello, Just to update that despite following all the above guidance in terms of my settings, my Firefox is still randomly forgetting all my tabs about once a month, and I've never been able to restore them, either by using about:sessionrestore, or changing a setting in about:config, or restoring a previous version of my Firefox profile. Nothing works. I've now tried downloading the Tab Mix Plus add-on as you suggest, in the hope that will help. But just to flag up that I think there need to be better ways of protecting a session / guaranteeing it can be retrieved if it is lost. Thanks anyway for the reply, hope the add-on may help. Corinne
