Is there a single hot key to change focus to the webpage content no matter where the focus currently is? I mean not just some of the time, depending on where the focus is -- I'm looking for the key that will do this *all* of the time without having to take stock of where the focus is beforehand.

Thanks for picking mine. :)

Here's a short addition to the F6 key: "F6" and "Shift+F6" are official shortcuts to move the focus through the frames. If a page has multiple frames, you need to press F6 several times before you come back to the first frame. My hack "Ctrl+K, Tab" always works, no matter where on the page your focus is. So does "Ctrl+K, F6" by the way.

Maybe "Ctrl+K, Tab". Ctrl+K sets the focus to the search bar, the tab key moves the focus to the next control in the tab order. For me, this is the website, even although I have buttons next to the searchbar.

Try the F6 key to set focus to the browsing area if the focus currently is elsewhere.

Thank you LWChris and cor-el. Both are good options.

Ctrl-K followed by Tab.

F6 seems to bring focus to the web page content, and if the focus is already there before hand, it brings focus to the Location fied.

Harumph. I can't designate both responses as solutions. Miffed, I am.

Thanks, LWChris. My Firefox only toggles between the main surfing pane and the "awesome" pane on F6. (Ever since I heard that name, I'm having a hard time remembering what it's really called...Location bar, I think). So I must not visit pages with many frames. No worries, I think ctrl-K plus Tab is a good backup. in fact, I may adopt it as the main habit simply because you don't have to take your hand off the keyboard.
