Pop-Up, Lower right screen, "Browser settings change"
This started happening for no reason that I can find. Every few minutes a pop-up window appears that says: Browser startup change
An unknown change was detected on your browser's search settings
(button) Keep my current settings (button) I am aware of the change and approve it
(button)YES
None of the buttons do anything. The close button doesn't work. The window sits on top.
I've been plagued with unwanted programs trying to change my browser setting and adding toolbars I don't want.. I've been able to delete / disable these manually.
The window doesn't show up with all extensions turned off. I can only turn it off by selecting it on the task bar and closing it there. I've been turning extensions on or off but it only goes away with all extensions off.

hello, i'd start fresh again and reset firefox (this will keep your boomarks and passwords)
Is that message coming from the BrowserProtect extension?
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

I said it didn't help but in actual fact it worked perfectly...sorry about that and thanks for a very quick and easy solution..:-)
I am having the same problem. I did a full scan using malwarebytes, which did not show a virus or infection. However, the "Browser settings change" still keeps popping up like was mentioned above. I have also turned the computer off and then back on. Any suggestions how to get rid of this pop up?
Hi AndyArn...this is a good while ago and I can't remember what I did exactly...looking at the post I must have re-set Firefox as suggested by madperson...I certainly didn't do the list of things from cor-el and I remember thinking that was sooo easy....so go for resetting....if it wasn't that then I just googled and got the answer there..good luck..try resetting first...might be as simple as that!!
