I visit a bulletin board (http://www.bogleheads.org/index.htm) which shows thread links that I've recently visted in a purple highlight (vs. blue, unvisited links). Normally, these links stay purple until someone posts another response to that thread, and then the link will change back to blue (when the listing page is refreshed or I revisit it). But this is no longer happening - the links just stay purple, even though new posts are going to these threads over time and I have not revisited them yet. Any clue?

Yes, I've looked at the page source and only see links with a forum ID and a topic number and possibly a start value incrementing in 50.

Those links are links to the forum thread pages and not to the last post, so they do not change when new posts are added. If you visit a page of a multi page thread then that page should show as visited.

Are you saying this based on having reviewed the current code at that page? The page appears on the screen as it has for years, during which the links and their highlighting behaved exactly as I described, until a few days ago (when I upgraded to 8.0? Not sure, maybe coincidence). If the page code has changed, then I need to be speaking with the BB folks and not FF. Please let me know how you came to your conclusion.

Thank you cor-el. The code was changed at our index page. It's been corrected now and everything is back to where it originally was. Thanks for your help!

You're welcome

Yes, I can confirm that there is now a &newpost=xxxxxx appended to the links that wasn't there previously.
