Just changed to firefox 4 and while watching videos I found that the process for firefox and specially the Firefox Plugin Process take way too much CPU than it used to take in firefox 3.X. In fact, it takes about 40% of the whole cpu usage when 3.X used to take 10-20% at much. Having in mind I'm using a laptop, I think this is a really big problem, as it will eat my battery in no time when it used to last for hours. I'm using Firefox 4.0 in a Mac OS X 10.6 laptop. Flash plugin is updated.

I'm reverting to the older version until you release a functional version of the new one. It's ashaming that a new major release like 4 has so major bugs when released out of beta.

Have the same problem. My Solution Finder--->Activity Monitor--->Quit Plugin process All Videos running say youtube and stuff will stop working. Solution: Refresh Page When on Dodgy Websites i noticed it coming up too. Normal use like you tube and stuff works fine. Recommend also to install Little Snitch and Sophos Antivirus for mac. Good Luck
