I have two Facebook accounts. My main one is usually opened in FireFox and the secondary one in IE8. I have had IE hanging so access the secondary account in FF. I had a series of error messages although I am able to access the account by stopping the script. The error messages were all in this format:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: http://www.facebook.com/help/?ref=drop:4

All have :4 at the end. I have no idea what script is running as the remainder of the script line is just the Facebook URL. Although it appears that I am running GreaseMonkey it is actually disabled.

I have a similar issue. I believe it started around 1st Nove 2010 It occurs Only on facebook, if I am using Firefox i get the messages such as

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: http://www.facebook.com/:7

or if I am on a group page then Script: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=xxxxxxxxxxxx:7 [group id edited out]

the ":7" comes up at the end of mostly any of them I get, but is not actually in the url.

Pretty much always the :7 "STOP SCRIPT" gets rid of the pop up but only until the next time [moments, minutes, sometimes a little longer] "Continue" does not work and sometimes the pop up warning will come up a little bigger than usual and without the stop or continue buttons... this crashes the browser entirely and I have to ctrl alt delete and close firefox.

On the same facebook account, if I use Google chrome it simply will not work at all and as soon as I log in I am met with an unresponsive page message.

It only affects one facebook account I have access to, the others all work as they should from the same computer and browsers.

Sometimes, I get this

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/zl/r/4en044H3F72.js:14

It is the only occasion where the :7 is replaced with :14 and where the pop up notification does not reflect the url of the page I am on at the time.

I am at a total loss, does anyone have any ideas at all?

Script: http://www.facebook.com/aaronminianthony:47

Just got a ":47" Got the usual message with the above script referred to whilst visiting a friends profile, I also reviewed some notes I made when the issue started and realised that I had gotten the ":4" initially also.

So any ideas any clever ppl about?
