There seem to be no work around for getting online chat to work other than switching browsers, which I will likely have to do for my default browser. There are many common web functions that seem to work fine on Safari, Opera, and Chrome that never work on Firefox — even after I allow permissions for those sites, turn off all of my add-ons, and even turn off security features. I understand the need for security, but Firefox needs to figure out how to address those needs yet still make their browser functional, which they've had a problem with for sometime, and it seems to get worse with each update.

What kind of chat is it? Java, Flash anything else?
Pretty sure its Java ( am no too pc literate, but have a go ) , looked in my settings and it says its enabled !
Which online chat is it? Disqus? An example would help greatly so it can be determined specifically what is not loading / working.
Its the online chat for my ISP, TalkTalk (UK).
You can check to see if it's being loaded with the Web Console: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Web_Console If it's being blocked by an extension or something, you can check that by launching in safe mode by going to about:support and restarting with add-ons disabled. Besides that, I've never heard of TalkTalk and thus don't know what kind of chat they use. If it's flash, then you have to go and install it. If it's Java, support for that has long since ended, etc.
I am having this issue as well on a site I use. There is no apparent work around other than resorting to Google or Explorer. It would be nice to use Firefox for everything but,I guess it's no in the cards.
