FF crashes at shutdown while cleaning cache2
Thread: "I updated to 56.0 (64-bit), and FF now crashes all the time." has been closed.
Sorry, but for me the solution " un-tick the box to clear offline-website data at shutdown in the firefox privacy settings" is not a real solution.
I really want to clear the offline-website data at shutdown.
==> What is the real solution or can I extend the shutdown time to let FF have enough time for clearing ?
Tks a lot !!!

UnTick the box? The box for me (61.0.2) needs to be 'checked' to clear the Cache.
However, recently, I made a change in About:Config to change the default Cache to 0. It's helped extended my browsing session before I have stop and restart the browser! This setting slows-down the Memory pile-up.

Offline website data is about local storage (storage folder in the main profile folder).
Does Firefox also crash if you clear only this offline data via "Clear Recent History" ?
Do you have security software that might be interfering?
You can try to clear the storage folder yourself manually by removing the storage folder and the storage.sqlite file in the profile folder.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
- Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
