Hi all, Google.com.au is not listed on the add-ons page for search engines. How may I use that site as my default browser?

In IE, I am able to type in any url I choose to use as my default search engine.

Any help appreciated.

Someone else will probably give the correct answer, but I would comment that as a UK user many of firefox's features use google, and although it is not specified as google uk that is what is apparently used. In the Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox google is one of the default search engines, probably the one selected by default, it does use google .uk . I am guessing that google geo locates you using the IP Address and by defaults uses an appropriate local google.

  • Have you tried selecting the default Google search bar using:
  • search bar -> down arrow -> manage search engines -> restore defaults

On a separate but closely related subject the Smart location bar again uses google by default, but I note that the keyword search is specifically set to google.uk you may need to specifically set yours to google.au You can specify any valid URL to perform the Internet Keyword searches by modifying the keyword.URL see Location bar search
