Hello

I've deleted my cookies and other data by mistake. I had a gmail account logged in(meaning when i open gmail, browser doesn't ask password etc.) now after i delete this data, i can't access to my gmail(forgot password and it wasn't connected to any kind of recovery yet. New gmail).

I somehow managed to get my previous firefox data using shadow explorer. when i follow 'Recovering important data from an old profile' guide, it doesn't work. Ex: my old cookies.sqlite file is 1.5MB. when i copy it to new profile i see it is copied. But whenever i open firefox i see cookies.sqlite new size is 96kb and i don't see any old data.

I tried almost everything on this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile I copied whole folders(both roaming and local). I copied only important files such as login.json or cookies.sqlite etc. Nothing works.

What am i missing here?

First, could you check that your Firefox is not set to delete cookies and site data automatically? Here's where that might be set on the Settings page, Privacy & Security section:

(1) Cookies and Site Data section

Make sure the box for "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is NOT checked.

(2) History section

Make sure the selector is NOT set to "Firefox will: Never remember history" (this forces Firefox into automatic private browsing).

Set the selector to "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" to reveal the detailed settings. Then:

If there is a check mark for "Clear history when Firefox closes" then click the Settings button to the right. Make sure that there are NOT check marks for "Cookies" or "Offline website data" or "Site settings".
