Hi, I'm trying to setup a Fastmail IMAP account with Thunderbird and all of the folders are being recognized except for Inbox, which is grayed-out. I've noticed that on the subscription list, it appears as "INBOX" and again as "Inbox," and here again, they're grayed out. I've been successfully using Fastmail and Thunderbird with another account, and on that one, the subscription list has only when entry, "INBOX," so I assume the problem is that the presence of an extra inbox entry is messing things up. Is this likely a problem on Fastmail's end, or is there something I can tweak to get rid of the other entry? Thanks in advance.

Hi Matt, sorry for not responding sooner. Your suggested change stops Thunderbird from detecting any of the IMAP mailboxes, so it wasn't a success. However, there's a detail I didn't share because I didn't know it was important: The Fastmail account had folders inside the inbox. Once I moved those into a separate archive folder, Thunderbird was able to recognize everything, so *that* was clearly the source of the problem.

Thanks again.

Tools menu > account settings > server settings> advanced and change the personal name space to INBOX and see if that helps.
