At startup or opening anew window the add-on bar shows at the bottom of the screen. How do I get rid of it permanently?

You should be able to get rid of it by holding down the alt button and press T and under Toolbars uncheck the Add-on Bar entry. If it still comes back you might have an add-on that is causing it to display.

Nothing seems to help, add-on bar opens with each new window. About a month ago with help from a friend I was able to eliminate the problem. Possibly an FF update caused it to return. Would doing a Restore to a month ago possibly help or make things worse?

Do you have any extensions that place data on he Add-ons bar?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank You ! I simply disabled the McAfee Site Advisor and the problem seems to have been corrected. I will hope for the best, thanks again.
